STANDLEY CHASM TRANSFER

​

A Larapinta Trail vehicle transfer to/from Standley Chasm. You can nominate whether this is your pickup or drop off point.

 

• Town pickups and drop offs: We pick you up or drop you off from/to your respective accommodation point but it must be within a 5km radius of Alice Springs CBD.  

 

• Standley Chasm pickups and drop-offs: We pick you up or drop you off to/from the Standley Chasm trailhead (car park area). (Note: During drop-offs, we sometimes arrive before the gate opens, so your alternate drop-off point will be at the gate, about 500m from the trail.)

 

Key points for the transfers

 

• Morning Drop Off to Standley Chasm

• Depart Alice Springs: 7:00am -7:30am

• Arrive to Standley Chasm at approx 7:40am/8:10am

 

• Afternoon Pick Up from Standley Chasm

• Depart Standley Chasm: 2pm

• Arrive Alice Springs: Approx 2:40pm

REDBANK GORGE TRANSFER

​

A Larapinta Trail vehicle transfer to/from Redbank Gorge. You can nominate whether this is your pickup or drop-off point. 

 

• Town pickups and drop offs: We pick you up or drop you off from/to your respective accommodation point but it must be within a 5km radius of Alice Springs CBD.  

 

• Redbank Gorge pickups and drop offs: We pick you up or drop you off to/from the Redbank Gorge car park, which is approx 300m from the Larapinta Trail campsite.

 

KEY POINTS FOR THE TRANSFER

 

• Morning Drop Off to Redbank Gorge: 

• Depart Alice Springs: 7:00am -7:30am

• Arrive to Redbank Gorge at approx 9:30am - 10am

 

• Morning Pick Up from Redbank Gorge

• Depart Redbank Gorge: 11am

• Arrive Alice Springs: Approx 2:30pm/2:40pm

2x FOOD DROPS - ORMISTON GORGE - ELLERY CREEK

The package includes a food drop to Ellery Creek and Ormiston Gorge. (Read the Ellery Creek Food Drop Changes for 2020 here)

 

In Summary

 

• Two food drop points: at Ellery Creek and Ormiston Gorge Only

• You can opt for Serpentine Gorge instead of Ellery.

• 1x50lt per food drop for 1- 2 hiker packages

• 2x50lt per drop for 3-4 hiker packages

• 3x50lt per drop for 5+ hiker packages

• Food drops run 7 days a week

• Food drop packaging and delivery as detailed here

• We provide storage containers. No BYO

• (DDPD) Digital Proof of Delivery & Alerts

FOOD CONTAINER HIRE

​

You will be provided with standard 50lt tubs or containers (General Plastic Storage Containers) for your food drop.  You can order more containers at extra cost. Generally, 1x50lt is more than sufficient for up to 2-3 hikers for each food drop.

STOREROOM KEY HIRE/BOND

​

A key is issued to you as part of the trek package. The key is required to open the Ellery Creek South, Serpentine Gorge and Ormiston Gorge food storeroom . The key hire is $70 of which $50 is refunded once you return the key to us.  More info about the storeroom key here

PRE-TREK CONTAINER DELIVERY/PICKUP

​

Your empty food container will be delivered to your nominated accommodation. Containers are normally dropped off at the Reception storerooms a day before your trek starts or at an agreed date and time.  An SMS will be sent to your nominated mobile phone when delivery has been completed.

• Containers are delivered to your accommodation.

• SMS messaging is provided for deliveries

• Real-Time Tracking & Alerts for all container deliveries

• (DDPD) Digital Proof of Delivery is recorded

 

 

PRE-TREK CONTAINER COLLECTION

Your packed food container will be collected from your nominated accommodation. Containers are normally collected the day you start your trek or at an agreed date and time.  An SMS will be sent to your nominated mobile phone when the collection has been completed.

• Packed containers are collected directly from your accommodation

• SMS messaging is provided for deliveries

• Real Time Tracking & Alerts for all container deliveries

TRAIL RUBBISH DISPOSAL

​

Trail rubbish disposal is included. Rubbish bags will be provided in the containers.
