CHEWINGS TREK PACKAGES
The Chewings Trek is a top tier 4-6 day trek covering some of the very best sections and locations of the Larapinta Trail. Though the trek covers only three sections ( 3-4-5) and can be done in 3 days, a vast portion of hikers will split these sections into two days to full maximise on the experience over a six day period.

TREK PACKAGE OPTIONS
CHEWINGS TREK EXPRESS PACKAGE
The express package provides the basics needed to complete this outstanding 4-5 day trek - the two transfers and a food drop to Standley Chasm. Both transfers are located at remote trailheads which require high clearance four wheel drives to access. The drive along these remote access tracks are at times rough but they are scenic and many hikers enjoy the 4WD to and from these places.

TREK PACKAGE INCLUSIONS
TRANSFERS / JAY CREEK <> HUGH GORGE
Vehicle transfers to/from Jay Creek and/or Hugh Gorge. The Jay Creek and Hugh Gorge Trailheads are some of the most remote trailheads along the Larapinta Trail requiring a high clearance 4WD to access. These are generally long duration (2-3hr) transfers, some of which are along rough, but scenic 4WD tracks.
Transfer Timings - Drop Offs
> Alice Springs Departures: 6:30AM
> Travel time to either Jay Creek or Hugh Gorge is approx 2.5 - 3hrs
> Arrival to Hugh Gorge or Jay Creek : Approx 9:30am
Transfer Timings - Pick Ups
> Hugh Gorge or Jay Creek Pick up time: 4:00pm
> Travel time to Alice Springs is approx 2.5 - 3hrs
> Arrival to Alice Springs is at approx 7pm
1x FOOD DROP - STANDLEY CHASM
One Food drop to Standley Chasm. This food drop will be delivered to the Standley Chasm kiosk which is signed in by LTTS and signed out by the hiker on arrival. In order to get your food drop, hikers will need to be at the kiosk during opening times (8:30am-5pm) or risk missing out until the kiosk opens again. You do not need a storeroom key to access your food drop at Standley Chasm.

FOOD CONTAINER INCLUDED
You will be provided with General Plastic Storage Containers for food drop. The amount of containers will vary depending on your package. You can order more containers at extra cost.
PRE-TREK CONTAINER DELIVERY/PICKUP
Your empty food containers will be delivered to your nominated accommodation. Containers are normally dropped off at Reception storerooms a day before your trek starts or at an agreed date and time. An SMS will be sent to your nominated mobile phone when delivery has been completed. Packed containers will be picked up the start date of your trek or at an agreed date and time.

CTR ESSENTIALS TREK PACKAGE

TREK PACKAGE INCLUSIONS

A Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) is an essential piece of kit all hikers should carry, particularly solo hikers. If you are in a serious and life-threatening emergency or situation such as a snake bite, severe heat exhaustion etc, a PLB can save your life by instantly notifying emergency services.
Includes 1x PLB ( Personal Locator Beacon) for the duration of your trek

We register your trek details and plan with AMSA (Australian Maritime Safety Authority)
While you are on the trail you may decide that you are carrying too much equipment, clothing or kit. You have the option to leave any extra gear behind in your food container. We will then pick up any excess gear you leave behind in the container and have it delivered to you when you finish your trek.
We will retrieve any gear or kit left behind in your food containers
Retrieved gear will be delivered to your accommodation at the end of your trek
There are no restrictions on what can be left behind, as long as it fits in the container and it's not illegal, or a biohazard
STOVE FUEL ALLOCATION
A stove fuel allocation is provided in this package. The fuel will be delivered with your containers during pre-trek.

Duo: 2 x 230g Jetboil or 1lt Shellite or 1lt Metho
Troika: 2 x 440g (or 3x230g) Jetboil or 2lt Shellite or 2lt Metho
